GHI was founded in 2019 by geologist and green energy pioneer Brian Maxwell as the result of the insight that large scale geological salt storage is essential for economic green hydrogen production.

Salt storage will be the cornerstone of the green hydrogen economy. Following that simple, essential insight, Brian built a team of energy veterans and visionaries, and GHI was created.

Now, 3 years later, GHI has acquired rare salt storage rights at key strategic sites globally, with a total potential storage capacity of 100 Terawatt hours of energy.

Our first project is Hydrogen City, Texas, a 60GW green hydrogen production facility that will be the first and largest of its kind in the world centered on the Piedras Pintas salt dome.
